Not renewing my subscription... Bub-Bye SW Corp!

Well, I have had enough, I don't see the value in it any more.
I will not be renewing my SW subscription!
SW Corp and the VAR system are a waste of my time/money!

I seriously think I would be contributing to a dysfunctional organization.

Bub-bye!

Tis the season for SW Corp to f%$k things up again..

Oh joy, installed sp1.0 and sure enuf I get to witness more half-bakeware!!

When the PhotoWorks Scene Editor is open, you can NOT edit materials!?
And, you can NOT shutdown SW!?!?

PLUS,.. you can NOT add Lights or Camera's!?!?!?

Great Quality Control you got there at SW Corp!?!?!?

btw, you could ALWAYS have these windows open together but nooooooooo....
ya see,.. there's a very good reason to having the Scene Editor and the Materials Editor open at the same time... it's called workflow and productivity... those things that help with reducing cost!?!?!?

This is the problem,... SW Corp does not understand how to be productive because they don't know how you use their own software!

Way to go SW Corp,.. you're right on course to a consistent - inconsistent release process!!!

Jerks!

..SOS (Same Old Shit),.. break it/fix it/break it/fix it-......... great software business plan!

Geometry Lock

Geometry Lock has been mentioned on a few sites as of late.

That is, STOP the features from REBUILDING at a point in time.

For instance,.. an example of SolidWorks Corp's POOR PROGRAMMING...
Remove or delete a NON releted feature (even a sketch of a sketch
image or a simple unrelated feature) and the WHOLE feature list
rebuilds!?!?!?!?!?!

TOTALLY UNPRODUCTIVE PISS POOR PROGRAMMING!!!!

This have been happening since I've used this PIECE OF CRAP modeler
back in 1998!!!

I wanted to remind people that this is NOT NEW, it has been a LONG OVER
DUE REQUEST where by SolidWorks Corp has CONTINUED to NOT APPLY NEEDED
CUSTOMER REQUEST to enhance PERFORMANCE and PRODUCTIVITY!!!!!

Instead, SolidWorks Corp CONTINUES to release HALF BAKED UNPRODUCTIVE
CRAP the users DO NOT NEED or WANT! Or, add crap AutoCad users miss/
need!?!?!!?

So, if you have some free time.... please, write to SolidWorks Corp
and tell them to STICK IT UP THEIR ASS!!!!

Thanks.. 8^)

Just another SPAM site "comp.cad.solidworks"

Well, after years of visting/posting at comp.cad.solidworks.. I believe it has finally become a SPAM site.
The people who have done this are mainly NON users which have real social problems.
Not so funny, it's very sad,.. I've learned through life that crazy people can rule and control if given a chance.

SW Corp gets away with releasing half-bake-ware

The reason why SW Corp gets away with releasing half-bake-ware:

Majority rules, 80-90% of the users come from using inexpensive, inferior and poorly managed design tools.
Most of the user base do not fully use the tool or use very little of the functionality, thus, the more involved functionality is typically overlooked, poorly critiqued or supported.
Majority of the users expectations on quality are very low or the need for reliable software is average.
Many of the users come from using past tools with limited functionality, they become use to or complacent with working around limitations.
Workarounds, due to limitations, have a "at a boy" or a accomplishment related mentality,.. this is, it becomes an accepted part of the job when using the software.

Majority of the users do NOT pay for the software,.. they are not committed to the software investment or it's future.
Majority of the users DO NOT report problems, why would they, it's not their problem, they get paid regardless.

SW Corp has a niche market,.. it still falls between two major software companies... PTC (Pro/E, high end) and AutoDesk (Inventor, low end)
Many Pro/E users do NOT fully use Pro/E so SW becomes the easier to use Pro/e for those converts, and again, demands are lowered.
Most Inventor/Acad users don't know how to use the higher functionality and most likely will never understand or use the majority of the functionality.

SW Corp business plan is to do as little and as much as possible to maintain their niche market.
That is, stay squarely in the middle, keep ahead of Inventor and behind Pro/e and of course, not more than Catia (the mother company).

So, for the users who are pushing most of the functionality in SW, we (I estimate about 10%) are NOT a priority and NEVER will be.
And.., for the paying users and/or consultants wanting to push SW and be more productive,.. we are between a rock and a hard place.

If you're into good looks and want it now with your linux install...

It's based on Debian and even though I prefer PCLinuxOS, this one is pretty sweet!!

New RMB pop-up in Feature Manager Sux!!!

I mean,... IT REALLY SUXS!!!!

When the user RMB clicks over the features in the FM the default location of the mouse cursor is at the ALL IMPORTANT "INVERT SELECTION" option!?!?!?!

WHO, who decided that this interface was productive!?!?!?!?

The user has to CONSTANTLY move the mouse upward to access the MOST COMMON used functions!?!?!?!

Can we all say..... STUPID!!!

Seriously SW Corp, do you guys really use this program????

And, what is with the CUSTOMIZATION....is there any??

GIVE THE USERS OPTIONS!!! STOP DICTATING THE GUI!!

It's offical.. I'm using a glow in the dark Ade$k product..

that is,... SW2008 reminds me of the marketing crap from Ade$k.. deja vu!?

Well, I've used it now for a few days and I don't get it!?!?!?
It's like Vista,.. I don't get it!?!?
Do I need these cute pop-ups and glow in the dark selection graphics!?!

Really, this is NO LONGER about productivity... it's about how cute the interface looks!?!?

What a waste of resources!!!!!!!!!!!!

arrrgggghhh....

How long does SW2008 take to load?

Forever and a day!!!!!.................
And, sometimes... not at all!?
Yep... a clean install of 2008 has shown me once again that SW Corp produces.... HALF BAKEWARE!!!

So,.. what pray tell solves this instanity... this is cute... I start SW2007... close SW2007 and then,.. SW2008 starts!?!?!?!?!

Can you say KICK START!? (where's that 2-cycle oil?)

What a POS, seriously!

Don't you just luv the crap they sell!?

Feature Statistics,... FALSE LIES!!!

I want to say this as nicely and as clearly as I can...
Feature Statistic values MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
The TRUE MEANINGFUL VALUE is the TOTAL time , that is, when the user has FULL access to the data!

Otherwise, Feature Statistics are POINTLESS!

Let's have REAL values, NOT FALSE DATA!!

Opening (total time it takes to open and have FULL access to the data)
Ctrl-Q (total time it takes from ctrl-q to FULL access to the data)
Saving (Total time it takes to save and have FULL access to the data.

The people behind this request had very good intentions and I appreciate its use at helping find problem areas or what features take longer to resolve.

It concerns me to see others using it as a literal measure of performance and/or comparison.
As it is now, it clouds the very real issue of overall performance.
SW2006, SW2007 and now SW2008 have each progressively performed slower, OVERALL,.. so, seeing Feature Statistics misinformation used as a comparison is very concerning!

I only hope Users, VAR's and SW Corp do NOT (or stop) use it as a tool for overall performance comparison.

So, yes, a upgrade to this tool is needed!
We need to request TOTAL OVERALL performance values (when the user has FULL access to the data) so we ALL can make accurate comparisons.

Looking at what SW Corp produces in Half Bakeware lately?

They do....

sp4.0, another Half Baked release!

Yep, SW Corp does it again! With consistency being the motto at SW Corp, they've released another half baked version!
How do they do it and how can they get away with releasing this wet noodle!? 2 days wasted and counting....
I believe, we are at the point of no return, this program is so full of add-on bloat it can no longer be managed by SW Corp. It's like a bull at a mainstream china shop with a bunch of sheep following.......
Anyone who has been in the 3D design business long enough knows, it's all downhill for anyone wanting real productivity from this program.
All the fun is diminishing....
Another Ade$k has been reincarnated.... ah, such bad karma.

To Shill or Not to Shill, what was the Question?

You know who you are or who you slept with!
I know, I know,.. ya gotta make a liv'n some how... but, don't you feel dirty?
Better question, why did you do it? I mean, don't you have any restraint or self respect?
Isn't it what separates us from the animals (sales people)?
Sure,.... it all started with a friendly beer!?
Remember, always wear protection when working across the border (or Boarder?! hmm, depends who's hosting your blog site?)

SolidWorks Suks!

As you may know, I really am disappointed with SolidWorks 2007!
It's slow, crashes and overall it is wasting my time and others as well, it's ALL relative... that is, we ALL lose!
What are ya gonna do... bitch an complain?!
One solution, become a brain dead drone designer working for a big company?!? Yeah, that's the ticket!?
I swear I understand abuse and victimization every minute I use this program!

Gonna be like everyone else...

Hello everyone in cyber-electro-media-space!
